Step-by-Step Application Process for LET: From Online to Onsite

Applying for the LET is a two-part journey: the digital realm of LERIS and the physical visit to the PRC office. It can be confusing for first-timers, but don't worry.

Introduction

Applying for the LET is a two-part journey: the digital realm of LERIS and the physical visit to the PRC office. It can be confusing for first-timers, but don't worry.

We've broken down the entire process into manageable steps to guide you from your laptop to the PRC window.

Overview of the Process

Phase 1: Online

Register on the PRC LERIS website, fill out your details, upload your photo, select your exam, and pay the fee.

Phase 2: Onsite

Go to your selected PRC office or service center on your appointment date to submit documents and get your Notice of Admission (NOA).

Phase 1: Online Registration (LERIS)

LERIS stands for Licensure Examination and Registration Information System. This is the portal for all PRC transactions.

1Prepare Before You Click

Before accessing the site, make sure you have all the required documents:

  • A working email address (preferably Gmail).
  • Your mobile number.
  • Soft copy of your ID photo (in .jpg format).
  • Your personal data (graduation date, school name, etc.).

2Create an Account

  • Go to online.prc.gov.ph.
  • Click on "Register" if you don't have an account.
  • Read the Terms of Service and click "I Agree".
  • Enter your details. CRITICAL: Your name must match your PSA Birth Certificate exactly.
  • Enter your email and password.

3Complete Your Profile

Sign in. Go to "Profile". Fill in all the blanks: Family background, Education, Employment, etc. Save your information.

4Upload Your Photo

Follow the photo guidelines strictly (white background, collar, etc.). The system may reject photos that don't meet the criteria.

5Select Transaction

  • Click "Select Transaction" on the dashboard.
  • Choose "Examination".
  • Select "Name of Examination": PROFESSIONAL TEACHER.
  • Select "Examination Type": LET.
  • Select the Date of Examination.
  • Select your preferred Place of Examination (Region).

6Set Appointment

Choose your preferred PRC Office or Service Center for document submission. The system will show available slots. Pick a date and time.

7Payment

Choose your payment method:

  • Landbank / BancNet
  • GCash / PayMaya (via PayNamics)
  • PRC Cashier (only if you are at the office, but online is preferred)

After payment, print your Application Form (LERIS form).

Phase 2: Onsite Appointment

This is the day you prove you are who you say you are.

What to Bring

  • Printed Application Form (from LERIS).
  • Original and Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate.
  • Original and Photocopy of PSA Marriage Contract (if applicable).
  • Original and Photocopy of Transcript of Records (with photo, remarks, seal).
  • Valid ID.
  • Cedula.
  • Passport-sized photos.
  • Documentary Stamps.
  • Metered Envelope (with mailing stamps) - sometimes required for mailing results, but often optional now. Bring one just in case.

The Procedure

  1. Arrival: Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time.
  2. Screening: Present your application form at the screening counter. They will check if your documents are complete.
  3. Processing: Submit your documents to the processor. They will verify the authenticity of your TOR and PSA documents.
  4. Biometrics: You may be asked to have your photo and fingerprints taken (if not fully captured online).
  5. Issuance of NOA: Once approved, you will receive your Notice of Admission (NOA) and the Program of Examination.

Keep Your NOA Safe!

Your Notice of Admission is your ticket to the exam room. Do not lose it. Keep it in a plastic envelope. You will need to present it on exam day.

Tips for a Smooth Application

  • Apply Early: Slots fill up fast, especially in major cities. Don't wait for the deadline.
  • Double Check Data: Errors in your name or birthdate on LERIS can be difficult to correct later.
  • Proxy: If you absolutely cannot go, you can send a representative with a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) and their valid ID, but this is often discouraged for first-time applicants as biometrics might be needed. Check with PRC first.

Troubleshooting LERIS

Forgot Password?

Use the "Forgot Password" feature. It will send a reset link to your email.

Website Down?

Try accessing it during off-peak hours (late night or early morning). Clear your browser cache.

No Slots Available?

Check other PRC branches or service centers nearby. Slots sometimes open up if people cancel.

Conclusion

The application process is the administrative hurdle you must clear. It requires patience and organization. But once you have that NOA in your hand, it becomes real. You are officially a LET examinee. Now, the real work begins: the review!
