LET Exam Schedule: What You Need to Know

Timing is everything. Missing the application deadline means waiting another six months (or more) to take the exam.

Introduction

Timing is everything. Missing the application deadline means waiting another six months (or more) to take the exam.

Knowing the LET schedule helps you plan your review, gather your documents, and prepare mentally. Here is what you need to know about the LET calendar.

Typical Exam Months

Historically, the LET is conducted twice a year.

March

Usually held on the last Sunday of March. This is often taken by those who graduated in October or those who needed more time to review after a March graduation.

September

Usually held on the last Sunday of September. This is the "big" exam, often having the highest number of examinees as it accommodates the fresh graduates from the main academic year.

*Note: Schedules can change due to holidays, calamities, or pandemics. Always check the official PRC resolution for the year.

The Timeline: Working Backwards

To avoid cramming, understand the timeline.

  • 1

    3-4 Months Before Exam

Application period opens. Start gathering documents.

  • 2

    2 Months Before Exam

Application deadline usually falls around this time. Do not wait for the last day!

  • 3

    2 Weeks Before Exam

Room assignments are released. Check where you will take the test.

  • 4

    Exam Day

    The big day.

  • 5

    2-3 Months After Exam

    Release of results.

Where to Find Official Schedules

Don't rely on rumors or random Facebook pages.

Application Deadlines

Strict Deadlines

PRC is strict with deadlines. Once the online system closes for the specific exam date, you cannot register.

Sometimes, they extend the deadline, but never bank on it. Aim to finish your application at least two weeks before the stated deadline to avoid system congestion.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

In case of typhoons or other emergencies, the PRC may reschedule the exam in affected areas.

If you miss the exam due to personal reasons, your payment is usually forfeited, and you will have to apply again (as a new applicant or retaker depending on if you were processed) for the next schedule.

Planning Your Review Based on Schedule

For March Takers

Start reviewing in November or December. Use the Christmas break wisely.

For September Takers

Start reviewing in May or June. You have a longer lead time, but don't get complacent.

Conclusion

Mark your calendars. Set alarms. The schedule is your roadmap. Respect the dates, and you will have a smooth journey to the exam room.
